Laptops & male fertility

Laptop computer use can effect fertility for men, particularly when they are placed on the lap for long periods of time.  Having a computer near the torso, organs and glands for long periods of time, has various negative effects.   This is true for males, females and even animals who might lounge near computer equipment often in search of extra warmth. Here are some details of a study about increased body temperature from the heat and radiation of the computer:  laptop fertility research.

Solutions:
Keep the computer on a desk or table when using it. Consider buying a radiation shield that your laptop can sit on, like the ones mentioned here. (no kickbacks for the mention!) Avoid working on couches, beds or chairs where having the computer on your lap is necessary, unless you have a radiation shield.

Food for Thought:
Do portable computer laptop desks (used while working in bed) reduce the problem?  Are the materials in these portable desks able to reduce the transfer of heat and radiation, or do some of them contain metals that would actually intensify it?

This is an interesting area of science. I imagine that cell phones being in the front pockets is causing some issues as well…

I will share this information far and wide. I currently am sitting with my laptop on my lap while I type this comment. I just recently shared with my loved ones a similar article about keeping cell phones nearby or in pockets.
